THE ELECTRICAL COURSE at Train2Build.co.uk, the DIY & Building Skills Training Centre:

Our ELECTRICAL COURSE is a 5-DAY course and is designed to give you an understanding of electrics in the domestic environment. It is a very practical hands-on course suitable for tradesmen or homeowners needing some electrical knowledge, or for anyone wanting to go on to further study in electrics.

Course content:

• How electricity works
• Safe isolation procedures
  
• Ring and radial circuits
• Lighting circuits – including 2 way switching
• Extra-low voltage lighting
  
• Spur outlets and fused connection units
• Wiring a shower, cooker, hot water cylinder, outbuilding
• Calculating cable sizes
• Earthing and bonding
• Wiring a consumer unit
• Testing
• Regulations and safety 

This course is "hands-on". From the first day you will be wiring up various appliances, learning about cable sizes, isolating for safety, testing and learning the technical terms used in electrics.
